In my opinion the presentation wasnt really good because lots of reading rather than explaining the points. However ,very useful information is used.

The presentation was good and clear.
------------------------------------------------

My personal view :
  • Mark Duggan a 29 years old guy , a father of 4 children was shot by a police officer claiming that he was holding a gun.
  • The riots took place in Tottenham on the 6th of August , it also affected other areas in the UK.
  • Over 1500 people were arrested
  • Too many innocent people were suffering from these riots and many of them were killed
  • Lots of people felt insecure and terror.
  • People were burned out of there homes.
  • Lots of distraction were caused by the riots whereas many cars were burnt down and shops were also destroyed.

Arabic langauge

 Language

Arabic is becoming one of the most popular languages in the world. As a Muslim, everyone would speak Arabic. Gulf countries and other arab countries in the surroundings like Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Mauritania, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco have arabic as their official first language. Although, each country has a different accent or dialects and some different terms used.

Arabic started among nomadic tribes in the Arabian Peninsula before Islam was introduced. It started nourishing in the 7th century AD. Many arabs have moved to the UK with the aim of setting up a business during the oil-boom in the 70's. They lived in the affluent areas of London. There is also many refugees from countries that are facing many problems. Multiple newspapers are actually published in the UK such as Al Hayat and Kufa Gallery. The holy Qur'an is written in Classical arabic, where now, arabic is spoken in a modern standard way. But classical arabic is still highly present and taught.

In the UK they have shops that sells stuff such as hejab and other traditional clothes. They also have many arabian restaurants and caffe , specially in London. There are many arabic people visiting London which lead British people in starting to learn Arabic to help out Arabic tourist.

The arabic language is written from right to left. Vowels are used to complete a word, they can actually change the whole meaning of a word. These vowels are used by small marks placed above or below each letter of the word. When people learn Arabic, it makes it easier to also learn Aramaic and Hebrew since there is some similarities with Semitic languages. There are a couple of letters that many western people find hard to pronounce such as, خ ح ع ق and غ
